I’ve owned this blow dryer for years, and it honestly was one of the best purchased I ever made! I used drugstore brands before this, and let me tell you, just pay the extra $20 to get a real quality dryer like this one! This actually gets hot on the “hot” setting, and reduces frizz, and overall helps straighten my hair before I even use my flat iron. It has definitely cut down on my styling time and is SO worth the buy!
This was one of the first makeup setting sprays I tried, and honestly it’s still one of the best affordable drugstore setting sprays, especially for a matte finish. NYX brand products are generally pretty good, and this one is no exception- it works just as advertised. The only con I would say is the sprayer, which is not a fine mist, so you really have to hold it about 10 inches from your face to avoid spraying too much in one area. If this had a finer mist spray it would probably be my holy grail setting spray! Also to note, it is on the smaller side and not as large as it seems in pictures (it’s 2oz versus many other products like the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray which is 4oz or 8oz depending on which size you buy). However, the sprayer on the Urban Decay spray is the same as this one- so I’d say it’s a pretty good drugstore dupe, and maybe even a little bit better for those with oily skin or who want a matte finish. This is definitely the best drugstore setting spray I have tried, and actually does extend the wear of my makeup, unlike many others, and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy!
I really like this moisturizer, as someone with oily skin and doesn’t like the feel of lotion or moisturizer on my face. I bought this because it was recommended to me by a worker at Sephora who said it was light and made for oily skin. It definitely is lightweight, and I don’t feel like my skin is shiny or oily after I put it on. However, if you do not have oily skin this may not be for you, because it is very lightweight, and you would have to use a lot more product (which I’ve found on days my skin in dry from acne medications or the weather). It does have a minty smell and slightly “cooling” feel when you apply it, but it doesn’t linger very long. It’s also decently priced for a brand-named higher end moisturizer ($34 for 1oz) whereas others can be around $50 for the same amount. I can honestly say this is the first face lotion/moisturizer I have actually used everyday in my skincare routine (and I have tried/own many others from drugstore to high-end), and it has never broken me out or made my face feel oily/shiny. It claims to “balance” your natural facial oils, which I’m not sure if it does, but I still really like the product, and it is definitely made for oily skin. That said, I would only recommend this product for those with oily skin or those where regular moisturizers feel heavy/make their skin shiny, or you will end up using more of the product than intended to moisturize your dry skin. This is the first moisturizer that I can actually use with my oily/combo skin that doesn’t break me out or make me feel greasy! It has lasted me a good amount of time too- I’ve been using it for months and I still have about 1/4 of the moisturizer left! It has a pump, which I like a lot, versus a pot-type which becomes contaminated easily with bacteria once you stick your fingers in the jar, and more convenient than a tube because it dispenses the same amount each time, so it’s easy to know how much you are applying. Definitely recommend to all oily/combo skin girls out there!
This brush by ELF is one of their best in my opinion, and I own a ton of them. This brush has a dense enough head to blend both powder or liquid foundation, and is so soft! It is very similar, but slightly larger and better for blending, than the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (which is one of my favorite brushes I own, so that’s saying a lot!). I highly recommend this brush out of all the ELF brushes, and out of all other drugstore brushes for blending makeup and for a flawless look! The best part is the price- it’s literally only $3!
Review for: Wisp (golden champagne with gold pearls with pearlized finish) more...
I bought this because it was recommended by a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube as a great but affordable highlight. It definitely is an amazing highlight in an amazing champagne gold color! It is highly pigmented, especially because it is not a powder product, but a “cushion” type consistency best applied with your fingers. It is amazingly affordable and you get a good amount for the money, the only thing I worry about is it drying out, but that’s pretty minor considering all of the positives!
I really like the quality of this brush! This was my first purchase from Morphe, and after all the hype, it did not disappoint. I find it to be comparable in quality and look to MAC brushes, but at a much more affordable price, and it is cruelty free!
I bought this as a more affordable alternative to the Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain in the “Rose” or red color. This works just as well in my opinion. It has a different applicator (doe foot versus the nail polish brush-like one on the Benefit product) but it doesn’t really affect how it works. It is a really great lip stain and lasts a while, but if you eat/drink it tends to come off. It is also difficult to get it to apply well over any other lip balm or lip products, since it is a liquid going over a waxy balm. It still applies, just not as easily or evenly as when you apply it on bare lips (my lips are perpetually chapped so I can’t really do this). I tried it as a blush too and a little bit goes a long way with this- all you need are a few drops or you’ll end up looking like a clown. Overall I recommend this as a natural looking lip stain, but it could also be built up to be a darker cherry colored red if you wanted.
This powder was very affordable and also a great value, as it comes with a ton of product. It also comes with a makeup “puff” to apply the powder if you want. I personally use a fluffy brush to apply it, and find it to be pretty similar to the Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in terms of how well it works to set your face (but without any scent). However, unlike the Coty translucent powder, this powder comes slightly colored in beige, so it can be misleading when looking at it, but I believe it is a universal translucent powder so it works for any skin tone (sort of like how the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is colored). I would recommend this to anyone looking for affordable setting powders that work, however it can be a little hard to find in stores and even online, so if you find it grab it!
I bought this product in my original set of 3 BareMinerals face products. I have to admit, I honestly mostly use the bareMinerals Original Loose Powder Foundation SPF 15 alone, and don’t use this or the bronzer powders that often. This powder and the bareMinerals Warmth All-Over Face Color Bronzer come in slightly smaller containers than the foundation, so it can be hard to get a brush into it and a pain since they are loose powders. However, this powder itself is definitely illuminating and lighter than the foundation powder, so I think it is a good quality setting powder, just not the easiest product to use in my opinion.
