have you tried just putting your hair in a top bun while its damp or towel-dried and sleep with it throughout the night? it works well without using any product to it.

For a messy, texturized wave, I really like using the Not Your Mother's® Beach Babe™ Texturizing Sea Salt Spray and the gel from that line as well. Scrunch it into slightly damp hair. If you’re not a huge fan of the “crunchiness”, mix the gel with a bit of oil in your hand before scrunching. I also use aloe vera gel from time to time, it doesn’t get hard or sticky. If you know how to French braid, you can get really beautiful beachy waves that way as well. I just learned how to about a month ago and it was life changing. My waves last the longest when I braid my hair while it’s slightly damp, then leave the braid in at for at least a day.
