Laura, you are so awesome - especially with this product. I dabbled in the shimmer versions (special shout out to Moonlight and Cocoa - gorgeous) but you had me running back to Sephora for the matte caviar sticks. Like the shimmer versions, once you put these on your eyes they are not going anywhere. Not even the VIB sale is going to get these to budge. You can apply directly on to the eye, with your fingers, or (my preferred method) with a brush and immediately get to blending. They're so easy to use and they are an amazing base for additional powder eyeshadows.
I have Fog and Cobblestone and I do love both of them BUT Cobblestone is the star of the whole matte collection for me. MAC discontinued their Camel Coat paint pot and Cobblestone is a great dupe for it. Major bonus for an already great product.
Finally a lovely spf that suits dry skin without shimmer (I'm looking at you, Biossance). This melts into the skin and leaves a dewy, hydrated finish that I'm addicted to. The scent is also divine but it does dissipate after application. I also have sensitive skin and I have not had any sort of negative reaction to this - if you're in the market for an spf, I'd recommend this!
I adore this CC cream! Truly a dream for dry skin folks out there. The coverage is quite minimal (think Glossier skin tint) despite having a thicker consistency. BUT that's a huge win for me as I'm not looking for full or even medium coverage - I want a light coverage base that plays well with my concealer. This definitely fits the bill. The light scent may be off-putting to some but I quite enjoy it and it wears off shortly after application. The finish is dewy - you will GLOW (I often skip highlight because I love how my skin looks with just this).
Also, for those with sensitive skin like myself - I have not experienced any bad reactions to this product! It's definitely worth a try.
Oh, how long I've searched for a face base like this! I'm all about minimal coverage - like barely there-type situation. Even when I'm breaking out, I just want to even out my skin tone without emphasizing my dryness. No breakouts caused by this product (which, with sensitive skin, I'm always concerned about) and along with my skincare, I can maintain a nice dewy face all day. Like with any product though, keep your own skin in mind. Just because a product does/doesn't work for one person doesn't mean it will/won't work for you!
One issue though - the shade range needs major work. Each shade is somewhat forgiving either a tad lighter or darker in most cases (because of how light the product is) but that's not any excuse for so few shades! Come on, glossier. Let's see some expansion!
It hurts to give this such a mediocre rating because this looks beautiful on my super dry skin. It's beautiful. But oh man, this conjured up big, painful zits from the depths of Hades. Almost immediately after wearing it, the face demons started popping up around my t-zone. I wasn't heavy-handed with this product either. I applied it like the product videos show it being applied on the models. If you don't have sensitive skin but super dry skin, I very much think you'd love this product. Unfortunately, sensitive-skin gals should be wary.
Let me preface this - I HATE lip gloss. Passionately. They could write songs about my divine hatred for lip gloss. But this little fella isn't like your average LG. In fact, I'd call it more of a gloss-balm hybrid because upon first application, yes, your lips will shine bright like a diamond (sorry, I had to) but once it has been on for a bit it really sinks into the lips and moisturizes like nothing else. The scent is also amazing, sweet and candy-like in a way that makes you wish it was edible. This actually made the jump from my makeup vanity into my purse which is a huge deal. For chapped lips, a little color, or when I just want to channel my inner Rihanna - I reach for this.
I wanted to like this SPF - it sat well on dry skin, didn't break me out, and kept the skin feeling nice all day. But it has a thicker consistency that isn't very comfortable to manipulate and move across the face and it definitely leaves a white cast on the face. ALSO - THERE IS SHIMMER IN IT. Be warned!! For awhile I just accepted it as it was but soon it was all I could see every time I looked in a mirror. If I got too close you could clearly see the shimmer reflects on the skin. Glowy doesn't mean glittery, Biossance! I'm giving it two stars for having spf above 30 but otherwise, hard pass!
I'll admit, I'm often quick to cast judgement on Too Faced for some of the garbage launches they've had in the recent past. I've owned and decluttered so many of their products that my reflex is to scoff at everything they come out with. I'm happy to say this product put up it's dukes and showed me what's up. As someone with desert dry skin, everything that claims to be dewy or radiant fails miserably but this concealer is something else. My under eyes keep that "tacky" feeling all day - I LOVE that. No crepe-iness or flaking. I can set it with a tiny bit of powder and it still maintains moisture. Good coverage that can be sheered out for lighter makeup days. Always a bonus. I'll give you this one, TF. It's a great concealer!
I consider this a bit of a hidden gem drugstore mascara. It adds length and a touch of volume without clumping all my lashes together and it doesn't irritate my eyes. I have relatively long lashes as is but this does make a noticeable difference when I wear it. Can also be applied with a lighter hand for minimal make-up days. No matter how many new mascaras I try, I always come back to this one.
