I use this on days when I’m going make up free or wearing a foundation without built-in SPF. I like that it’s nice and light without too strong of a scent. The pump bottle is also a handy design. I also appreciate that a little goes a long way, so one small bottle lasts a really long time!
First, let me say I love this product, and I love 99% of the Shea Moisture products I’ve tried. This is a good toner, but not for the reasons advertised. The titular ingredients are African Black Soap, Bamboo Charcoal, and Aloe. While these ingredients are all present, the labeling is misleading because (1) it doesn’t mention one of the main ingredients, witch hazel (the third major ingredient, behind water and glycerin) or that (2) this product contains salicylic acid. Most products that have any sort of topical acne treatment in them (like SA) usually state so more clearly, since it can dry out more sensitive skin (particularly with frequent use). My guess is that the witch hazel and SA are doing more of the heavy lifting in this toner than the trendier sounding bamboo charcoal and African black soap.
The first time I ever used toner in my life was when I got a sample of Dickinson’s in my first-ever vox box from influenster! I have repurchased this many times since and can’t stop recommending to others! Before influenster I had never even heard of toner. I assumed the red spots on my chin were acne scars that would never go away and that my only option for reducing breakouts was acne treatment. Boy was I wrong! This stuff has worked miracles on my skin.
Loved this face mask! The smell wasn’t too strong, and the clay mask went on easily. No stinging or tingling once on—which has happened to me with a different SheaMoisture mask. This definitely left my skin feeling more refreshed and moisturized—I loved it!
I’m a big fan of this foundation! First, the app. Very easy to use! I went through the color matching process about four times before I was satisfied that I’d done it correctly and ordered my complimentary foundation. The first try was a perfect match! I love that the date is on the bottle so you can easily tell if it’s a pale winter or darker summer shade for yourself! The foundation itself is pretty light coverage-wise (why I docked it a star.)
This three-step nose pack was easy to use, but the results were underwhelming. The first and last steps smelled like strawberries—but in a fake way. The second nose strip didn’t hurt, but it didn’t clean out my pores very well. I probably won’t buy this again.
I enjoyed this mud mask! The only downside was a slight playdough scent. My skin was looking dry and I was a bit broken out, and this mast left my skin feeling soft and looking dewy. It also reduced some of the redness around my trouble spots. This was great — I will definitely be using again sometime!
