I've been shopping at Gap for at least ten years. Trendy but classic is exactly my style, so I always have good luck. For the price, the clothes are well constructed, and they provide access to the newest trends at affordable prices.

Their yoga pants have been my go-to for years, but I'd suggest getting them at a Gap Outlet if you have one to get the best deal.

The skinny ankle zip pants that were new for Fall 2012 are the perfect casual work pant and worth every penny. I own them in every color. They're great for work, but easily transition to post-work drinks or a fun dinner.

WIth a good attitude and some patience, you can find some great stuff in their clearance sections too! Keep an eye out for when they do an extra 30-50% clearance prices, and stock up on your basics. This is when I usually buy things like underwear, tshirts and pajamas. But stay open minded! You might be able to find that dress you had your eye on all season, but couldn't bring yourself to pay full price.

I used to enjoy the clothes GAP had to offer but rectory I've notice the cloth material is cheap. The prices are high, and the sales aren't that great. I'd rather buy at other brand stores. Also, the last time I went in to Gap, I had bad customer service.

CONS: repetitive

Although I can't say I run to the gap before a big date, I do love the classic staples. I don't believe in filling my closet with 20 pairs of beige pants and white tops but the GAP is PERFECT for that casual white button shirt, a plain black long sleeve shirt, or even a sweater. I like to think of the gap like the nobody husband of a huge starlet. It's there to compliment the glitter and sparkle without outshining it. It's forgettable in all the right ways.

While there are many complaints about the price of items in Gap stores, there is no way you can deny the selection and quality. Gap can be counted on every season to have the must-have staple of the current fashion cycle, as well as those classics - you know: the oldies but goodies that everybody comes back to. Cardigans, V-necks, and skinny jeans. Sure, it's expensive now. But when you realize these jeans can last you more than one fashion season, you won't be complaining.

I loved GAP back in the day, maybe 7 years ago. I havent bought anything from the store in years. every time I go in I am bored to death. its the same old same old every time no matter what. I prefer banana republic, especially when the price point isnt that much of a difference

QUICK TIPS: Similar styles at Old Navy . It's part of their company.

My style all the way. This is the store you go to if you don't want to dress flashy, but you want to looks classy and polished. Gap had great jeans too. Stores like Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe are for trendy people. Gap is for people who don't follow trends.

I don't know what everyone else's Gap is like but mine is great. They have great prices and they have really cute clothes if you look hard enough. It's better than other stores which all they do is have their brand on the merchandise.

the Gap used to be so trendy when i was a kid! now it is filled with docker-like pants and the like. they still have SOME cute things, and accessories - but it's pretty much just frumpy type clothes.

I agree that the prices are way too much for what you're getting but I can't stay away from this store. I have a very simple style and they always have the best basic chunky sweaters to suit my needs (esp. for the upcoming winter!) I like their jeggings but they're a bit too short on me :( I also find that the quality is good but it's nothing to justify the price for.

I had a pair of jeans for around a year when the zipper broke and they let me exchange them for a new pair because of the flaw. They have very cute clothes comparable to J. Crew at a lower cost. The Gap lasts forever. I have hand-me-downs from 20+ years ago that I still wear today and they are in great shape. The clothes are staple pieces with new colors and wonderful extras each season.

Yes, some things get pricey but sometimes it is worth it! GapBody is especially wonderful. The clothes are comfy and functional and the sales are even better!

I love the Gap, I buy all of my daughter's clothes there and you can never go wrong; Shoes, backpack, uniforms, play-wear everything is great. The styles are simple, yet classy. I have tried Old Navy the style might be the same and it might be the same company but you cannot compared the quality; GAP clothing is more durable than Old Navy.

I LOVE Gap clothes. They are classy but fashionable, and they fit so well and last a long time. However, their prices are wayyy out of my price range (though worth it if you can afford it). Therefore, find a Factory Outlet store and buy everything there! They have GREAT prices and still great clothes. There are at least 2 or 3 Gap outlets in Mississippi, so I know they have to be fairly plentiful everywhere else!

I love shopping at the GAP. I love their long and lean jeans. For someone who has long legs, it is hard to find the right fit, but they have about anything to fit a shape. Sure, they may not be the latest trend setter but to be honest I would rather be comfortable and know that it won't be out of style tomorrow.

With Gap, I know what I am getting myself into. Classic pieces that are great for looking young, but sophisticated. Their jeans fit me will and everything in their store is really great quality. Make sure you follow the washing/care instructions and you'll have no problems! I like the style the store provides, but if its not your "thing" you probably wont like it.

QUICK TIPS: Keep your eyes on the sale racks - great stuff to be found there!

The Gap has always been, for me, a place where I can get well-made basic clothing pieces for a good price. I visit it a couple of times a month to check out what's new but more importantly, what's on sale. Almost without fail, the thing I like will be drastically reduced in price in a month's time. Where else can I get great-fitting pants that last for years for $12?

The styles can be hit or miss. Sometimes, everything in the store is on my wish list. Other times, I can't stand any of it. But the pendulum has always swung back to my tastes and that's what keeps me coming back for more.

i love gap clothes i do agree with some people it is over priced but as an employee i can tell you if you wait for two weeks that same item of cloths that is priced at 59.95 in two weeks it will be marked down and on top of that mark down with there great sale like 40 percent extra off sale items you can get that 59.95 shirt or pant for more than 60 percent off

If you want to shop for style then the GAP is NOT the place to go. All of their clothes look the same, it is a very plane jane boring store.. you will never find anything exciting, beautiful, or fun to wear. It's like shopping at a uniform store for private schoolers almost!!

I think it is a horrible contrast to look at the advertising for The Gap who sells an image of being so very politically correct on one hand and compare the reality of the business with the horror of a fatal fire in their factory a few years ago. What bothered me the most, was that the doors were locked to prevent unionization so many died. All they wanted was just a few pennies more for an hour's work. There is nothing the Gap can do to elevate my perception of their brand. If their advertising does attract customers with conscience, then it would make sense that the customers would be happy to spend more money knowing the makers of the goods earned a living wage in a safe factory. instead, people buying the brand are paying for overpriced goods made by mistreated workers in a deathtrap factory. Shame on you, Gap!

I used to wear a lot from the Gap and stopped because it just wasn't really "me" and I didn't think the quality was really worth it. I stopped by on a whim this year and I'm hooked again. The quality on most things is a bit better than I remembered, especially for the price. I always find the jeans fit a little oddly, but I am a complete sweater addict and I love all their choices. It's great for my weekend wardrobe!

My son wore Gap clothes all the time as a baby and toddler. I never experienced or felt that the jeans were not comfortable. Yes, there are some other really good brands out there, but I'm sure the jeans for little ones here are ok.

I buy mostly Gap jeans for my 4 1/2 year old, and have since she started wearing them. Granted, she's long & thin, so perhaps that fits, but I feel like they are the only jeans that fit well & hold up, and for a child that's 90th percentile in height and 25th in weight, the adjustable waist is a must!

As far as comfort, the only thing she's ever complained about is the buttons from the adjustable waist rubbing against her. I cover them with moleskin or medical tape & they're all good!
