Julep Maven Nail Polish Box

Julep Maven Nail Polish Box
Not my favorite
PROS: Great colors
CONS: Some colors are difficult to work with while others are smooth.
I signed up for Julep a few months ago, and while I love the colors in the bottle, some of the colors have a difficult formula to work with. They do have good staying power though. I'm still on the fence, since the price feels a bit high for the quantity of product.

Julep
I ordered the box just to try and I have gotten 3 so far. They have wonderful colors. The polish takes longer to dry than some of the others I have used but all in all pretty good

Signed up for the free box, stayed for love
I really had no intention of continuing my subscription once I had received my free intro box. But I was actually so smitten with the colors that I decided to give it a bit longer. I did skip one month so far, and I have switched out boxes for other boxes I wanted more twice now. I have had so many compliments on my Julep manis. I also happen to love the formula. It always applies like a dream for me.

Love :)
I have received my first box in the mail and I got a shimmery gold that I LOVE! The other color wasn't the greatest, it as dark green/black :/... I did however get this repairing oil that I adore. It makes my skin so smooth and evens my tone out.

Still on the fence
PROS: Love the colors and the quiz process
CONS: Application wand, formula
It's nice to open your mailbox to see something other than bills! These polishes come in a lot of cute and fashionable colors however I am not a fan on the application wand nor the the longevity of the polish. Even after a month of testing these colors out (IT Girl) I think I'm going to stick with my beloved OPI.

Addicting!
PROS: great colors, lasts forever, only 1-2 coats needed, great customer service
CONS: shipping can be slow, full price products are expensive
I've always been a nail biter and pretty much hated my nails. Julep changed that for me, it taught me how to take care and appreciate my nails. The color variety is amazing and the formula works incredibly well for me. My manicures usually last more than a week with a good top and base coat. I agree with other reviewers about the bottle size, but with all the sales and deals they offer their members...you never pay full price for anything and you can't beat the OPTIONS they give you. You seriously are given like 8 different variations of boxes, so you are never disappointed. I subscribe to several monthly boxes and Julep is by far my favorite.

Just Awful
PROS: Decent New Member Deals
CONS: Cost, Membership Cancelling Policy
I joined for the "Free First Box" deal. Luckily the debit card I signed up with was about to expire, so I didn't have the hassle of having to CALL (you can't just do it online) to cancel my membership. New members no longer have the option to skip a month, which I don't like because I don't about you, but I don't always have $25 to get 3 nail polishes every month. The ones I got weren't that amazing. The teal color actually stained my nails. I won't waste any more of my money on this company.

One of the better subscription boxes
PROS: nice color selection
CONS: Shipping can be bothersome
If you're looking for a good nail polish monthly subscription box then Julep is one to start with. You will recieve 2-3 nail polishes a month with something a little extra added in. What is nice is that they open up the Monthly Maven Box early so you are able to review your box before you purchase it. If you don't like the colors selected and prefer a different box, you are able to chose. If you decide that you don't want that months box, then you can chose to skip. I love this selection just in case I am short on cash that month, or don't care for the colors. I only gave them a B because they ship by USPS and I have had issues recieving my Maven box previously.

Do you believe the subscription box is worth the money?

DANNAE P. Answer :
The products you get in the box are worth the $20. I skip a lot of the months as I don't always have $20 to spend on nail polish, but every once in a while when I fall in love with the colors that month, I buy the box. The polishes last a long time on my nails and the other beauty products included are high quality as well.

ALISSA P. Answer :
It is for me, definitely. You can choose a different box if you don't like the one chosen for you. You can skip the month if it isn't in the budget, or none of the boxes appeal to you. There are always really great coupon codes included in your box so you can get other colors at a nice discount. The polish is really great, and they have some really unique takes on colors. Also, the top coat, and the Oxygen Nail Treatment are totally worth the $$, too. I have loved every color sent to me (except one, and I might warm up to it..)

Is this product worth the money? I love nail polish and paint my nails usually more than 1 time per week-but is this really worth the money?!

TARA R. Answer :
It sounds like you would be the perfect candidate for this subscription. You can get 3 polishes a month so combined with your existing lot, you will have a beautiful collection. The formula is one of the best I have tried. Try your first box free, just pay shipping, and see if you like it. They also have beauty products that I have purchased full size and I love all of them. My advise is to visit their website look at the polish colors and beauty products and to get a free box.

YESSICA A. Answer :
honestly, NO! I tried it for a few months and its not worth the prices. my nails chipped within half a day of using the nail polish, and then you don't know what you will get in you're boxes. I personally would rather stick to OPI.

I love nail polish and I want to subscribe to this substription.. but What do you acturally get in the box when paying for a $19.99 subscription? I saw many pictures of the the boxes, but it seems that many people upgrade (+$30) to add extra things.. I would love to do that too, but i just dont have the extra cash. Lol. So.. What products do you get when you just pay $19.99? Is the first free box the same as the $19.99 boxes?

I saw that alot of people answered your question, so I am not going ot repeat everything they said. I just wanted to add something. If you know others that would like to sign up for this, for every 2 people that sign up, you get a free month(box)!! And you can always skip a month, or cancel altogether!! You should at least take advantage of the free month! Use this link, and at the checkout use the code FREEBOX -all you pay is $3.99 for shipping!! http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/691346/

If you get the First promo box (free just pay shipping) then the box after will typically have two polishes (new collections) and a beauty item. Lately, they have been coming out with some awesome cosmetics and Mavens are the first in line to get it! Check out my reviews at subscriptionist.com or got to the shortlink http://wp.me/p47opf-l7

KILEY Y. Answer :
Jennifer, the $19.99 subscription box price gets you one of three options: 1) Two full-size beauty products (modern beauty option) 2) Two nail polishes and that month's beauty product (boho glam, classic with a twist, bombshell) 3) Three nail polishes (it girl) They pair the colors for each collection, and you can pick whichever combo you'd like regardless of the profile you got with your quiz. The intro box made up to match this formula, though the products and colors you get in it will be different than when you subscribe.

Is the subscription worth it? I get many emails to sign up for a free month but haven't took the plunge yet. What do you suggest?

BRITTANY J. Answer :
I just wanted to add a correction to a previous answer...I signed up for the free box in August 2013 and have been allowed to skip every month since. I don't know where you heard you couldn't, but that's definitely not the case. Now to address the actual question: For me, it wasn't worth it. The polish is great and last long, but I paint my nails maybe once every two weeks so I don't feel like paying $20 a month for something I'll barely use. I still follow them on Pinterest and Instagram and they have some great new products such as an elongated "Plie" wand with various attachments. It's great if you're into doing intricate designs on your nails.

CHRISTINA C. Answer :
If you are still indecisive, think about quite a few factors. They are high-end polishes that comes in gorgeous colors, and now offering makeup, etc. Although, you get to pick a collection or able to skip a month, really think about if you honestly need all that nail polish. I was subscribed for 6 months, and I received so much polish from Julep Maven, as well as receiving other nail polish brands from other subscription boxes. $19.99 gets pretty expensive after awhile.

ASHLEY P. Answer :
honestly? do what i did, get your first box (i did get 2 add ons and spent like 12 bucks just so i could get free shipping, because in my opinion it's worth spending 12 bucks extra instead of $4 shipping) my first box came with a 50% coupon code which you can use on the next months box ... so i used that 50% code and made my box $10 and then i cancelled. if you seriously paint your nails all the time and don't already have an enormous collection of nail polish it's worth it, but 2-3 polishes a month is a lot of polish and i feel like unless you paint your nails like 2 times a week it's not really worth it in the end. i saw an answer talking about being allowed to skip months, WRONG. that's an old policy they had and changed a few months ago. you can only skip i think twice a year. and it's only every like 6 months that you earn a skip. so you CANNOT skip months anymore. i tried. the polish is really nice, just really don't think it's worth keeping after a few months because you will be over loaded with polish (if you're not like me and don't already have a ton of unused polish already) hope this helps!

JENNY W. Answer :
I have been a Julep Maven for 9 months now...I also used to subscribe to Cult and a couple other cheaper options. Julep is BY FAR the best option out there. Not only for the price, but for the additional items they offer like jewelry from Etsy, makeup and skin care products, great sales ($2.99 for a bottle) and all with free shipping. Cult is $25, and I just found a new one for $25 as well (just can't remember the name). I love the option that you can also SKIP a month if it's not in your budget or if there just happens to be absolutely nothing you want. Something the other subs don't offer.

CHANEL A. Answer :
It depends on what your looking for, if you're looking for a surprise in the mailbox every month and a good variety of beautiful polishes then julep is for you. There are other boxes that are less expensive or come with more products it just takes some searching for what's best for you

To add to the previous answer is that you have the option to skip a month and also you have 4 different selection every month to choose. I've been subscriber for almost a year and I love it. I love their sales where you can get polishes for $ 3 or $4.
