Julep Maven Nail Polish Box

Julep Maven Nail Polish Box
No thank you.
CONS: Everything.
Got the 1 cent box during a promotion and I'm glad I didn't pay any more than a penny for it. The nail polishes are pretty, yes, but they're half the size of a standard polish, cost $14 individually, they're incredibly sheer, dry out quickly, smell like death, nothing about them is pleasant. You can get a much better value with much better quality for $5 at the drugstore.

Eh
It's okay, but I feel as though it isn't the greatest bang for your buck. I feel like the nail polish chips exceptionally easy. I can usually keep polish on my toes for a while, but this has chipped over in days.

Expensive.
The premise of these boxes is fantastic and they do make a quality polish. However, $20 a month is steep for a couple polishes so I enjoy the special edition boxes they offer. They tend to be a better price.

Nailpolish is weird
I like the colors but the formula is kinda iffy, the smell is weird and strong and after you apply the nailpolish it bubbles

Excited for the mail
PROS: Fun colors, you can add on & you can choose from a few options.
CONS: There are a whole lot of complainers signed up for this!
QUICK TIPS: Give it a try & if you don't like it then cancel, but be different & don't complain & bad mouth things;-)
I joined the maven box & I'm loving it. I like that you get a box chosen for you but you can swap it for one of the others if your liking what they have to offer better than what was chosen for your style, which is deemed by a quiz you take when you sign up. There are a few box sizes to choose from but I went with the $20 one & the first one is free, or a few bucks for shipping, depending on when you sign up or if you are signing up through a referral. The nail polish is on par with any other polish I've tried out there, like OPI & the other name brands that are more on the pricey side. You will see a lot of people complaining about things online on Facebook & such because they aren't happy with the colors or some aren't as good as others but it's a monthly subscription, you're not always gonna get what you want or like... if you want that then you go to the store or order specifically. It gets a little tiring see all the negativity so I just stay away from all that & judge it for myself, not expecting it to be the nail polish of the Gods... I'm pretty sure they don't even wear nail polish... just sayin'

Great for a polish addict.
PROS: unique colors, fun, on trend, good promotions
CONS: pricey, some polishes have bad formulas, got rid of skip a month option for new subscribers
I was never addicted to nail polish until I subscribed to Julep. It's a bit pricey, but it's just too fun. If you don't wear nail polish often, then don't bother. Julep has some great and unique polishes, which is why I like this subscription so much.

eh
I subscribe to Julep for about 3 months. It is 20 dollars a month if you dont get any add ons. I think it is worth trying the 1st month because you can get it free. You only pay like 3 or 4 dollars in shipping. Other than that, I don't see anything special about these polishes. I just couldn't justify spending 20 bucks on 2 or 3 nail polishes every month.

Nothing special
CONS: Expensive
Colours are nothing special at all, and are incredibly expensive. Their subscription box is a complete jip, I tried one and cancelled. Not worth the money at all!

Wonderful Polish All Around, but a Bit Pricey
PROS: Color, Long Lasting, Consistency, Formula
CONS: Price
Very nice polishes. Love the consistency. A bit pricey. Even their monthly subscription box seems a bit high. They do have a good quality nail polish that provides great coverage and is long lasting with nice color choices and a great finish!!

Is this product worth the money? I love nail polish and paint my nails usually more than 1 time per week-but is this really worth the money?!

YESSICA A. Answer :
honestly, NO! I tried it for a few months and its not worth the prices. my nails chipped within half a day of using the nail polish, and then you don't know what you will get in you're boxes. I personally would rather stick to OPI.

I believe that if you can manage to win your Maven box for free and you only have to pay for shipping then yes it is worth it because you are only paying like $4.00 for something that is worth $24.00, and to me that is a good deal. If you have to end up paying that much for a few things a month then no it is a bit too pricey for me.

I love nail polish and I want to subscribe to this substription.. but What do you acturally get in the box when paying for a $19.99 subscription? I saw many pictures of the the boxes, but it seems that many people upgrade (+$30) to add extra things.. I would love to do that too, but i just dont have the extra cash. Lol. So.. What products do you get when you just pay $19.99? Is the first free box the same as the $19.99 boxes?

I saw that alot of people answered your question, so I am not going ot repeat everything they said. I just wanted to add something. If you know others that would like to sign up for this, for every 2 people that sign up, you get a free month(box)!! And you can always skip a month, or cancel altogether!! You should at least take advantage of the free month! Use this link, and at the checkout use the code FREEBOX -all you pay is $3.99 for shipping!! http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/691346/

If you get the First promo box (free just pay shipping) then the box after will typically have two polishes (new collections) and a beauty item. Lately, they have been coming out with some awesome cosmetics and Mavens are the first in line to get it! Check out my reviews at subscriptionist.com or got to the shortlink http://wp.me/p47opf-l7

KILEY Y. Answer :
Jennifer, the $19.99 subscription box price gets you one of three options: 1) Two full-size beauty products (modern beauty option) 2) Two nail polishes and that month's beauty product (boho glam, classic with a twist, bombshell) 3) Three nail polishes (it girl) They pair the colors for each collection, and you can pick whichever combo you'd like regardless of the profile you got with your quiz. The intro box made up to match this formula, though the products and colors you get in it will be different than when you subscribe.

Is the subscription worth it? I get many emails to sign up for a free month but haven't took the plunge yet. What do you suggest?

CHRISTINA C. Answer :
If you are still indecisive, think about quite a few factors. They are high-end polishes that comes in gorgeous colors, and now offering makeup, etc. Although, you get to pick a collection or able to skip a month, really think about if you honestly need all that nail polish. I was subscribed for 6 months, and I received so much polish from Julep Maven, as well as receiving other nail polish brands from other subscription boxes. $19.99 gets pretty expensive after awhile.

ASHLEY P. Answer :
honestly? do what i did, get your first box (i did get 2 add ons and spent like 12 bucks just so i could get free shipping, because in my opinion it's worth spending 12 bucks extra instead of $4 shipping) my first box came with a 50% coupon code which you can use on the next months box ... so i used that 50% code and made my box $10 and then i cancelled. if you seriously paint your nails all the time and don't already have an enormous collection of nail polish it's worth it, but 2-3 polishes a month is a lot of polish and i feel like unless you paint your nails like 2 times a week it's not really worth it in the end. i saw an answer talking about being allowed to skip months, WRONG. that's an old policy they had and changed a few months ago. you can only skip i think twice a year. and it's only every like 6 months that you earn a skip. so you CANNOT skip months anymore. i tried. the polish is really nice, just really don't think it's worth keeping after a few months because you will be over loaded with polish (if you're not like me and don't already have a ton of unused polish already) hope this helps!

JENNY W. Answer :
I have been a Julep Maven for 9 months now...I also used to subscribe to Cult and a couple other cheaper options. Julep is BY FAR the best option out there. Not only for the price, but for the additional items they offer like jewelry from Etsy, makeup and skin care products, great sales ($2.99 for a bottle) and all with free shipping. Cult is $25, and I just found a new one for $25 as well (just can't remember the name). I love the option that you can also SKIP a month if it's not in your budget or if there just happens to be absolutely nothing you want. Something the other subs don't offer.

It depends on what your looking for, if you're looking for a surprise in the mailbox every month and a good variety of beautiful polishes then julep is for you. There are other boxes that are less expensive or come with more products it just takes some searching for what's best for you

To add to the previous answer is that you have the option to skip a month and also you have 4 different selection every month to choose. I've been subscriber for almost a year and I love it. I love their sales where you can get polishes for $ 3 or $4.

Is it any good? & What does the price a month usually run?
6 Answers

AMBER D. Answer :
Yes! This is a really good nail subscription service! It is actually rated as the best! The price per month is $19.99, but for every 2 people you get to sign up, you get a free box! Plus, you can skip any month that you want-if you don' t have the money, or just don't like the selections that month. You can cancel anytime you want, too. I like them because you can choose from all nail polish, all beauty products (makeup/skincare), or both! And if you sign up using this link, and use the code FREEBOX at the checkout, your first month is free! you just pay $3.99 for s/h!!: http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/691346/ I would highly reccommend you at least give them a try! For $3.99, you really an;t go wring!!

Initially your first box would be free plus shipping so around $4! After that it is $19.99 per month, but with Julep they give you the option of "skipping a month" during a specific time if you don't really "like" the next box, or if you don't have the money. I like it a lot! :)

I love that you can skip months with Julep and your not invested! There comes a time within every girl that we have just too much polish! I have tried Cult Cosmetics, Square Hue, and Color of the month Club... all subscription nail services but I always come back to julep because of their color choices and how you can customize your own monthly collection every month! This is something I tend to value, but you won't know how you feel about Julep until you give it a try.

TRISHA F. Answer :
It took me a long time to pull the trigger, but I took advantage of a $1 polish Black Friday sale to dip my toe into using Julep. I was SUPER impressed with the polish and it's one-coat application, which I haven't really found with any other polish. I have a bunch now and haven't yet been disappointed. I just signed up for the Maven boxes this month, so I don't know how long I'll continue that and if it'll continue to be worth it, but I like the one offs I've bought & been given so far.

No, your account will not accept the code again. You would have to use a different e-mail and even then I'm sure their system has some kind of check for a recent cancelled subscription. Its nice that they offer a free intro box, I would hate for this to be abused and no longer available to new subscribers! :o)
