Hey, Allison! While most reviews I have read about Essie nail polishes sing praises of the highest level and my friends enjoy the brand as well, I myself cannot say that I have enjoyed the formulas I've purchased for my personal use. The colors I have are super thick and almost never dry: when I go to bed at night after applying Essie polish and wake up the next morning my nails are smudged and have creases from my sheets on them. It's possible that it's only the color selections I have because I've read that some other collections have a thinner formula but I have yet to see this. You can buy Essie at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Kroger, Ulta, and more!
CHELSIE Y. Answer :
I personally don't like Essie very much, I think it's an overpriced, small bottle with average colors that are very similar to what is already available. I would rather spend that $8 on China Glaze, Orly, or OPI, but I know a lot of people that would swear by Essie. The one thing I have of theirs is the matte topcoat that seriously makes me giddy. But they are sold at most beauty retailers as well as most department stores (including Target and some Walmarts!).
