Assassin's Creed III Video Game

Amazing addition to the franchise
January 7, 2013
PROS: Climbing trees, beautiful graphics, plot twists
Like the title says, this is an amazing addition to the Assassins Creed franchise. I was a little leery about the new time period, and whether I would like it. I loved Ezio and Renaissance Italy, not such a big fan of the American Revolution though.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well they did in bringing the American Revolution alive. To participate in the events brings a new perspective to history. As a history teacher I always strive for ideas to make it interesting and relevant to my students. I'm glad to see that Ubisoft is taking on this challenge with the Assassins Creed franchise.
No spoilers - there are a lot of plot twists that make you go hmmmm...
The main problems that I've had with the game are a lack of in game instructions on trade and crafting and that Connor seems to be rather emo at times.
Over all - an excellent game and a must play for any fan of Assassins Creed.
Verdict:
yes

Didn't live up to the hype

PROS: Multiplayer or Solo play, Interesting characters and story line
When Blizzard finally announced the release date for D3 I was giddy with anticipation. I played the first two religiously and couldn't wait till D3 was available for download.
I played the Beta, and was impressed with the new classes and the limited story line. I loved the addition of achievements and played all the classes up to level 10 (which was the limit for the Beta).
Release date and download - play play play for hours, defeat boss after boss... Internet down - couldn't play because it's online only (which was a new feature) ok - that sucks. Internet back up - play play play. Get to nightmare mode and WHAM brick wall. It was agonizing playing chapters over and over to get enough gear to survive the next chapter. Auction house and or crafting was prohibitively expensive to get gear that way. Eventually lost interest and drifted to other games.
It's a good game, but I found it did not have the lasting playability that the first two did.
Verdict:
yes

Love the crazy campy fun

PROS: Character customization, open world play
QUICK TIPS:
Buy property early, money is always a good thing.
This is the first of the Saints Row games I've played, and I feel that I've been missing out if the previous two are anything like this one.
First off, the character customization is some of the best that I've seen. Having played the similar GTA, and being stuck with a pre-fab main character, it was refreshing being able to customize the main character. The differing attitudes and responses based on said characterization is icing on the cake. My husband also played this, and I frequently found myself going "my character didn't say that!!!".
The open world play is just as fun as the plot line quests and is full of campy, snarky fun. I would and have recommended this to many of my gamer friends.
Verdict:
yes
