I have the glow kit in the shade "that glow". I have a lot of highlighters in my collection and I try a lot of new products out regularly and this one is a product that I have wanted to try out for a while. Living in Canada makes it really difficult to get my hands on new beauty products because of the high exchange rate and shipping costs to get products from the States. Although I have purchased a lot of products from the States I try to wait until they come to Canadian Sephoras. Anastasia Beverly Hills recently launched a very wide range of their products in Canadian Sephoras and I purchased this Glow Kit the day it was stocked online. I love mixing the three lightest shades and using them individually. I haven’t used the darkest bronze shade but it looks perfect for ladies with darker complexions or possibly for an eyeshadow. The price point might seem high for this product but when you think about it you’re really getting four highlights for a few dollars more than you would pay for a single Becca Cosmetics highlight.
Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Celestial and Sunlight. I really love these products but there are a few things I learned on how to apply them which has been very helpful. The first thing is that they dry really fast so you have to blend quickly before they dry in place, the second thing is that a little goes a long way, it is really easy to overdo it and apply to much product and then it can patch up and the third thing I learned about these products is that you can actually mix them with your foundation as well and you won't look shiny, like they do when you swatch them. These products are so versatile and I really enjoy playing with them and using them in different ways and I definitely recommend picking up a shade or two.
This is the first Chanel makeup product I have purchased and I am totally in love with it. I've seen a ton of beauty YouTubers use this product and give amazing reviews for it so I went to three different malls looking for it and finally picked it up. CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel is a cream bronzer that is not completely matte but has a luminous finish. I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply this product in the same places I would apply a powder bronzer, the temples, perimeter of the forehead and my cheekbones, to give a sunkissed dewy look, which I am all about. This is the first cream bronzer product I have used and I am totally hooked on it. A cream bronzer looks so much better on the skin than a powder bronzer and looks incredibly natural. I love the soft luminous glow this product gives me skin and I also love how great it lays over foundation or on a "no-makeup-makeup-day" when I'm not wearing foundation at all. This product has a slightly perfumey scent but nothing overpowering and it hasn't irritated my sensitive skin at all. The colour of this product does come off a bit orangey which might not be flattering on very fair skin but in the summer time with a bit of a tan it looks amazing.
This is hands-down my favorite foundation of all time! This product doesn't settle into my smile lines like every other foundation I have found does. This product also looks really natural and like you're not wearing foundation at all but has medium coverage and evens out your complexion. It's really lightweight and doesn't cake up or clog my pores. I bought two shades of this foundation, one for when I'm really self-tanned and another for when I'm more pale.
I've heard a lot of good things about Essence Cosmetics and I finally decided to pick up a few things. The first thing I grabbed was the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 01 be my highlight. The Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 01 be my highlight is almost an exact dupe for the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01. This is a great product that is really finely milled and looks really pretty with a natural makeup look. Just looking at a swatch of this product you won't be blown away until you actually apply it to your face. The packaging on these products isn't the greatest but it is really sleek and simple and I don't think the highlighter pan will break easily which is good when you're clumsy and drop things all the time.
The Essence Make Me Brow is also a really good dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow. It has a really small wand that allows you to get the brow gel precisely in the areas of your brow you want without getting any on the skin around your brow. The large wand is a major flaw of my favorite brow gel, the L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper so I'm hoping the Essence Make Me Brow will become my new favorite.
The first time I used these products I used all three products, the Shampoo, Conditioner and the Colour Deepening Treatment. I would suggest, for first time application, applying the colour deepening treatment outside of the shower so you can see where you have applied it and can get a more even coverage. The first time I applied the treatment I didn't spread it as evenly as I thought I did and a few areas of my hair were lighter than others but that evened out with the next wash. I noticed a big difference in the colour of my hair after just one use. My natural brown hair colour is a bit flat and mousy so I like my hair to be just a shade or two darker than my natural colour and this product worked perfectly for deepening my hair to that perfect shade for me. Because I dyed my hair from blonde to brown it was hard to get an exact match to my natural hair colour so I did have some lighter brown roots coming in and using the colour deepening shampoo and conditioner has made my roots darker and hardly noticeable. I have been using the colour deepening treatment once a week and every time I use it my hair gets a bit darker. On the package, it says to leave the treatment on for 5-10 minutes, leaving it on longer is supposed to give a more dramatic result and each time I've left it on for 10 minutes. The conditioner makes my hair feel extremely soft and silky without weighing it down and I found that my hair had a bit more volume than usual when I started using this line of products.
I have used a lot of John Frieda products previously so I already know I love the brand and the products really work so I was really excited to be included in this VoxBox. When I used to have blonde hair my favorite shampoo was the purple shampoo from John Freida because it totally eliminated the brassy tones from my hair that developed a few weeks after having it dyed.
I have continuously used these products for two weeks now and I am totally hooked on them. I love the deeper shade of brown my hair has turned into so I will most likely be purchasing these products when I run out. The product comes in an easy to handle and squeeze tube that fits perfectly on a small shelf in the shower, the shampoo and conditioner smell really good as well, I can't quite describe the smell but it makes my hair smell clean and pretty.
This product is perfect for saving time getting ready and keeping your skin really hydrated with barely any effort. I picked up this product because after taking a shower the last thing I want to do is stand around being cold while I moisturize. I figured that if I could make a step in my morning routine quicker then I would have more time to sleep in the morning. By moisturizing in the shower as opposed to using a body butter after my shower I think I saved myself about 5ish minutes and there is no wait time before getting dressed after your shower. The intended use for this product is to apply it after using all the usual shower products and rinse it off right away. It takes less than 30 seconds to apply it all over my body and rinse it off, it's so easy! I've been using this product every time I've showered for about 2 and a half weeks now and I love it so much! I purchased this product for $8.99 CAD at my local Shoppers Drug Mart which is full price but it goes on sale really often. I believe there are two other products in this range that are for normal to dry skin but the one I picked up is for dry to very dry skin.
This product leaves my skin so hydrated and I have noticed a big difference in my dry skin the longer I have consistently used it. I still apply a body butter on days I want extra hydration for my skin but I don't have to use nearly as much as I used to before finding the Nivea, In-Shower Body Lotion.
This product is hands-down my favorite facial cleanser and the best one I have ever tried. I love cleansers that have a creamy consistency and do not lather. This cleanser melts off all my makeup and clears the dirt and oil from my face within seconds. The Purity cleanser doesn't dry out my skin like other harsh cleansers do. This product is really expensive (not as expensive as the soy face cleanser though) but I will be repurchasing it when I run out because I love it so much. The only thing I don't like about this product is how awkward it is to squirt out of a fat bottle and I just love things with pumps.
