I received a few samples of David's Tea from Influnster for testing purposes. Right out of the gate - in the pre-survey they asked something along the lines of if I like tea and would be willing to receive and review some samples - I in fact do not like tea, so I said no thanks. I was sent tea. Lol. So I had a sip of each and my final conclusion is... no, I don't like tea.
I was skeptical to begin with as I know the protein often gives an awful texture, and I was right. The only flavour that tasted remotely what it was supposed to was the banana, and all flavours had a weird immiediate aftertaste as well that I couldn't handle. For the life of me, I couldn't get passed the texture. Also - this may or may not matter but it's false advertising which annoys me - these are more soft-chews than gummies as advertised.) Received free from Influenster for testing purposes.
Maybelline usually has great mascaras but the Falsies Volume Express is a huge disappointment. Right away, it was hugely frustrating to apply. I like the shape of the wand applicator but the wand itself bends, which I don't think I've ever seen before, and I guess it's supposed to be helpful but it only made it difficult. The formula left little to be desired - not much volume even after a few coats. Just very clumpy and in this case, thankfully wasn't very long lasting.
I received a sample size of Marc Jacobs' mascara in a Sephora's Favourites kit recently. I am glad I got to try it - Marc Jacobs being such a highend brand, it never occurred to me I'd be able to, even just in sample size! I really like the formula of this mascara; it gave nice volume and colour. I have a love/hate with the wand - if it were a full size, I'd LOVE it but because it's not, it seems far too big.
I was so excited to finally try a Too Faced lip product and I'm sooo disappointed. Even for half the price that I'd gotten it, it's not worth it. Melted Latex lipstick feels exactly like every awful sticky lipgloss. It applied patchy and was just very uncomfortable to wear. Safe Word is described as a pale pink - if pale neon is a thing, then sure. The colour was extremely bright, nothing like the swatches. Not very long wearing either - maybe almost a couple hours at the most which is not actually a bad thing considering how much I didn't like this.
I received a free travel size of Benefit's BadGal Bang Volumizing Mascara from Sephora, was very excited to try it. It does its job of volumizing perfectly fine; however the formula is pretty wet which, if you have naturally long lashes like me, can get messy.
I received RealHer's Be Fearless Be Limitless blush kit from Boxycharm a couple months ago. It's a baked product so it's likely you'll need to get that first layer off to get much pigment. Be careful once you do as it is VERY pigmented; a little goes a long way here. My only complaint is two of the shades have far too much glitter for my liking.
Sephora's Sephora Favourites Selfie Kit is a nice way to sample products/brands you haven't tried before. Six products, one full sized and I'm really happy the tarte liner was the full size. This kit seems like a nice natural/everyday look kit
