Review for: Light Beige - Light with Neutral Undertones, Sand - Medium with Golden Undertones, Vanilla - Fair with Neutral Undertones
I received a few samples of Too Faced's Born This Way foundation from Sephora. Out of the three, I chose to try Light Beige on myself, it looked like the closest match. The coverage is great, and a little goes a long way. However, I was surprised that the shade was darker than expected and had an odd orange-ish undertone. It also dried quite fast which is bad news for those of us with dry skin; it adds little to no moisture, clings to dry patches and flakes.
Review for: Yves Saint Laurent TOUCHE ÉCLAT - Strobing Light Highlighter 0.08 oz
I received a sample of Yves Saint Laurent's Strobing Light from Sephora. I really love the glow it gives. It's buildable - you can make it subtle or build it up, and it doesn't dry too fast or slow. I don't think I could justify the price for the full product though.
Review for: Blistex Inc. 10120 Blistex Lip Balm Medex (Pack of 6), Blistex Lip Medex .25oz (7gr) Each Jar (6pk)
Blistex Lip Medex has been my #1 for as long as I can remember. It's what I grew up using because it's what my dad bought. I've tried other chapsticks and some are good but absolutely nothing compares to Blistex. It. Works. Instantly soothing and actually does what it's supposed to. I'm never without it.
ColourPop's Sugar and Spice eye set is a really beautiful set of a warm matte brown/rust colour and gorgeous ivory and pink satins. I love all of the finishes but matte and satin are my favourite. It goes without saying by now how incredible the formula and pigmentation of these shadows are.
MakeUpForEver's Volume 4 Artist Palette is an all matte palette with beautiful and varying shades to create many different looks from. The pigmentation is good, but with a good eyeshadow primer they look amazing, so keep that in mind and if it's on sale, great.
ColourPop's Where the Light Is foursome set is simply beautiful. It goes without saying by now how incredible the formula and pigmentation of these shadows are. Glow and Kathleenlights are probably my favourite shades out of the set, but they're all beautiful.
ColourPop's Moment of Weekness lip bundle is a great set of varying ultra matte shades. To be honest, what really sold me on this was Friday - I've never attempted a black lip on myself but it's ColourPop so I had to get it. There is transfer but I don't find them too drying.
ColourPop's Nuts and Berries eye set is gorgeous mix of golds a pop of burgundy; the burgundy, Paradox, being one of my top favourite shock shadows. It's a gorgeous satin/matte red, I love it so much. It goes without saying by now how incredible the formula and pigmentation of these shadows are.
ColourPop's Strawberries and Cream eye set is a cute, nude toned set. It goes without saying by now how incredible the formula and pigmentation of these shadows are. My favourite of this set is Reversible - a gold/beige with a satin/pearl finish - the perfect mix of gold and beige.
I received this sample pack of tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 hour foundation from ordering online from tarte. My skin tone/type is just the weirdest and now that I'm not tanning from summer, I'm paler - always been this way. I'm pretty non-adventurous when it comes to foundation because of this. I have my two go-to's - one drugstore, one high end, and I'm happy with that. But today I was bored and just decided why not try one. Surprising and yet not at the same time - the lightest shade "Fair-light Honey" was my match. I literally said "Oh no" outloud in the middle of applying for the first time because DAMMIT this foundation was perfect. I hardly used any of that little blister pack because YES full coverage, I couldn't believe it. The tiniest bit goes a long way, it looks and feels flawless. I love it and I'm so mad lol because it's just so expensive.
