Review for NARS The Veil Cheek Palette - 2 days, 4 hours ago
I'm sad to say that this Nars Man Ray Veil cheek palette might go back.

It's beautiful. Smooth and lovely but both the bronzer and the highlight are too dark for my skin tone. The blush is lightly pigmented and gorgeous though. I had considered using the highlight as a bronzer but it is too shimmery. There's also the option of using them as eyeshadows but, at $49, that's a pretty hefty price for 3 shades.

But the packaging is so pretty!

Review for Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo - 2 days, 4 hours ago
This was part of my big purchase from Beautylish during their buy $100 get a $20 gift card promotion.I've never owned a Tom Ford product before so I thought I'd dive right on in with something that I could wear everyday (I need to get my moneys worth at $82). The Skin Illuminating Powder Duo claims to mimic 2 different types of light on the skin, daylight and candlelight.

First of all, this is lovely. The packaging is luxurious from the outer box to the inner sleeve to the satisfying weight of the actual compact. The powders are bubbled up so there is a lot more product than there seems to be. The beautiful embossing work is even and adds to the luxurious feel.

What you don't see, and won't see in anyone's swatches, is all the micro glitter. I love glitter, excessive amounts of glitter are A-OK in my book. The glitter in this powder is quite likely the most fine micro glitter I've ever experienced. It is almost impossible to capture on camera or even in video as I've tried. But it is definitely there.

I'm going to rate this a 10/10. I can wear it EVERY day even if it's just a light dusting over my cheeks, it will last a long time and I can guarantee that I will smile every time I open the compact :)

Review for beautyblender beautyblender bubble - 5 days ago
Whoever tells you that all beauty sponges are the same is either lying to you or has never used an actual Beautyblender. Seriously.

The Beautyblender is so much more dense and soft that they're really is no comparison. Used damp it helps me apply my base makeup without emphasizing the texture on my face and I can also apply dry products!

I've tried several other branded beauty songs and none of them lay as long as the beautyblender does.

Review for: Vanilla Orchid
Here’s a quick and simple review.

This stuff’s great!

Just kidding… but it really is great. It’s pretty and feels very hydrating without being thick and greasy. The scent is a bakery vanilla but goes away pretty quickly if you care about that sort of thing.

$4.99 at Walmart.

Review for Stila Color Balm Lipstick - 5 days ago
I really love the creaminess of this balm. The color appears to be a light blush on the lips, not artifical and not too bright. The texture is good, it doesn't emphasize the fine lines on my lips. The only thing that I want to thrilled with is the minty flavor/scent. It's definitely a negative for me but if you don't mind the fragrance/taste this might become one of your favorite balms .

This is the absolute best sunscreen I have ever used. No joke. It's light weight and Alaska in almost immediately. There is no greasy feel left on my skin and no horrible sunscreen scent. This sunscreen also does not affect my makeup application at all. I've gone through at least 4 bottle of this in the last 2 years because I love it so much and it's never think of getting anything else at this point.

I have mature, combination skin that leans on the dry side with some oiliness on my forehead.

Review for Del Monte Fresh Cut Golden Sweet Whole Kernel Corn - 5 days, 1 hour ago
I've always loved Del Monte corn (and peas if we're being honest). I find that it's one of the few canned corns that actually have a corn taste. Sometimes canned vegetables become bland and lifeless but not these. I usually add a bit of seasoning salt and paprika to amp up the flavor or add it to make a good corn chowder even better.

Review for French's Crispy Jalapeños - 2 weeks, 1 day ago
I did not know that I needed crispy fried jalapenos in my life and you do too. I like the strong punch of flavor (not necessarily heat) that comes when using such a small amount. Of course they would be great dumped on a casserole straight out of the oven but consider sprinkling them on your bagel, salad, sandwich and more for a burst of flavor.

I prefer these to the onions actually, shhhh, don't tell Frenchs.

The new Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl highlighter in Diamond Dust, which was a free with purchase sample that I received from Ulta, is my new favorite highlight.

It has an insane pink shift that just does not capture well on camera but is very noticeable on the skin. This is not a natural highlight so don't go there if you are looking for something subtle. Sometimes it looks icy and as it catches different light, it shifts to a soft baby pink highlight. Definitely eye catching. Makes for a terrific inner corner highlight as well.

It has lasted all day on me with a bit off fallout if applied with a soft brush. Expect it to travel a bit on your face.

Review for Thebalm the Balm Nude Dude Palette - 3 weeks, 2 days ago
Charming Charlie had The Balm products on sale for buy 1 get 1 free and offered $10 off your first purchase as well. So, these ended up being about $8 a piece including shipping. I'm not mad at you Charming Charlie and theBalm.

These are not my first theBalm products, my favorite highlighter is from theBalm. Mary-Lou manizer has a crazy, beautiful glow and stays put all day.

I'd compare these shadows to Lorac. They are dry and moderately pigmented. A bit on the powdery side but with minimal kick up and fall out. Easy to blend but not very exciting. I'd say these are more of an everyday work horse.

The brush... is useless. It's scratchy and doesn't pick up any product. The angled side would be good to use with a brow pomade though.

Nude Dude reg $36: 12 shadows 0.80 g per shadow (for comparison, a ColourPop pressed shadow is 1.5 grams)
