The Jouer liquid lipsticks are hands down the best liquid lipsticks that I’ve tried so far in terms of comfort, longevity or hell, just anything, including the price point for a higher end brand. The Stila ones are pretty awesome as well, but Jouer has my heart particularly their metallic formulas.
I've gone through about five of the small bottles of this stuff since I discovered it in November. This is literally the best facial mist I've ever tried, and it's a multi-tasking wonder. I love a matte face, but sometimes it can get a bit too much when using all matte products, a few spritzes of this on the face and you're left looking softly dewy, not oily. It's a great makeup refresher throughout the day as well and the smell is to freaking die for!
I like this peel well enough. I find that it's gentle enough for my super sensitive reactionary skin, and it does provide a brightening effect that's long lasting. the reason for the three stars is that it plateaued on my skin, meaning I got to a point where it wasn't doing much anymore and I had to move on to something else. I have re-purchased however, cause when I give myself a break and come back to it, it starts to work well again.
I love this oil from Fresh. It's very light weight yet it still manages to hydrate the skin and leave you looking very brightened. The smell may take some getting used to for a lot of people, I myself don't mind it. I use this at night as the last step in in routine, and I use it in the mornings as well during the winter.
While this has a really awesome finish and looks great on, it literally lasts about two hours tops. And it was a lazy day for me, I went and got coffee, sat out on the patio of a coffee shop for like an hour and by the time I'd gotten home, it had melted off my cheeks. In winter. So skip this for spring break cause it just will not hold up. The good about this is that although it's a medium coverage it can be built to full and the finish is natural looking. There are only six shades available and they can only be found online at Ulta.com, unfortunately the shade and undertone selection isn't great so I didn't find a perfect match but I was still able to make it work. The pictures that I'm attaching show when I first applied it and then two hours later when it basically melted off my face, I wore it a few times using different primers to see how it would behave and each time it performed the same way. This a good foundation if you're not planning on wearing it for very long, but for a long day, skip it.
Let me just say, this…is much much better than the Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation. Heads above it. It comes in a big glass bottle, and instead of a pump, the cap has a spatula attached to it. This was probably the only thing about this that I disliked.
The Shade that I got, Mocha is maybe a shade…and a half too dark for me. But as I’m about to show you, it really didn’t matter. Mocha is supposed to be a dark neutral, in truth it’s a very warm, almost golden peach shade which is why it did not suck.
This foundation was such a wonderful, wonderful surprise. It melts into the skin like butter, spatula aside, it applies like a dream and when it sets it doesn’t budge. The coverage is also stellar, I didn’t even have to use concealer. Once it sets, it’s set There is minimal transfer, but I’m starting to think that I may need a better moisturiser since lately all my foundations have been transferring, even the high end and luxury ones that never do. It finishes to a natural satin matte, that not only doesn’t look made up and cakey but photographs beautifully. Photos below in indoor and outdoor lighting.
So what made me instantly fall in love with this? Well a combination of things. For one thing they smell like cupcakes. Second, they taste like cupcakes. I kept praying to god that I didn’t try to lick them off my lips. Third, the way they apply and dry damn near instantly. Texturally they’re like a whipped mousse, so almost as soon as they hit your lips they’re drying. And they dry matte, like rubbing your lips together and sounding like paper matte. But they don’t feel like it, they’re very light. You get complete coverage with all but one of them in one swipe. There are eighteen shades in the range, of which I picked up eleven, but lost two so, now I have nine.
What I love about these, they’re very long lasting. Even after eating greasy food, they’re still mostly there. When they do fade, they leave a nice stain. What I don’t like about them, although they’re very comfortable to wear, they’re extremely drying even with a balm underneath. But you can’t feel it drying out your lips. All that being said though, Imma wear the hell out of them anyway, how can I not?
These are in my opinion kind of pointless on their own.
If you were thinking that you would get these instead of having to pay upwards of $35 for either a pressed or liquid Shimmering Skin Perfector, stop yourself right now.
These are in essence retouching pens, meaning unless you're already wearing the Shimmering Skin Perfector, and need a touch-up at some point during the day, they'll be useless to you.
Why? Because they're very sheer and tend to blend away to nothing, add to that the chunks of glitter left behind after blending, and I'd say save your money and just get a regular Shimmering Skin Perfector, which btw never fade so once again..what's the point of this?
I genuinely love Becca and never have issue with their products, but this one was just a serious fail.
I like this for the whimsical nature of the packaging more than anything else, there are better highlighters out there at a much better price, so you're basically paying for the beauty of the thing.
Second, if you're not into subtle highlight and try to build this up, you'll wind up with a chalky mess on your face that exacerbates all your imperfections. I prefer subtle highlights so this works well for me.
Third, the colour is a pearlescent pink that's suitable for everyone from fair to dark, once again bearing in mind that the key here is subtlety and natural looking highlights.
Personally I could have gotten two different highlighters for the price of this one, but I love Lancome and I'm a sucker for packaging.
