Review for Nutella Hazelnut Spread - 2 weeks, 3 days ago

Nutella is my childhood favorite, and although I don't eat it as much anymore, I still buy it as a treat occasionally. This holiday edition, it comes with a cookie stamp! I use Nutella in cakes and cookies, but I also just spread it over a slice of bread when I crave a treat. It's creamy, chocolatey-sweet with just a taste of hazelnuts. Since it has quite a strong taste, I can go with having just a little bit, which helps with the guilt 😊 As a child, I used to eat Nutella straight up from the jar with a spoon! This product will never disappear from the shelves!

Review for Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara - 1 month ago

Noir Interdit mascara comes in the well-known
Givenchy packaging, with the famous black and silver ribbon design. It’s
a bit bulky, but I don’t mind it. I’m becoming more appreciative of the
square packaging, too, since the mascara doesn’t roll around. The
mascara itself is scented, more than any other mascara I’ve used. It’s
definitely a nice perfume scent, and I thought it would bother me, but
it doesn’t. Once on my lashes I can’t really notice the scent all the
time, I more catch it occasionally during the day.

The main feature of this mascara is an innovative
wand that can be folded up to 90 degrees for better control. At first I
thought this was a gimmick and used the mascara without folding the
wand, but once I tried folding it at different angles I realized how
genius this option is. It really does increase control, especially when
I’m trying to get the little lashes in the corners and when I’m putting
mascara on my left eye (I am right-handed). The wand flips back and
forth easily, but once folded it doesn’t move at all while I’m applying
the mascara. It really didn’t take long for me to master the wand.
With my long lashes I always need to comb or
separate them after applying almost any mascara. However, Noir Interdit
mascara has a comb-shaped brush with bendable, shortened bristles, that
combs my lashes better than other mascaras. I get a lot of length,
enough curl, but not much volume, and that is exactly how the mascara is
advertised. I found that I can build up some more volume with another
coat, without clumping, and that makes this mascara great for day wear
and for more intense evening eye looks. I haven’t noticed any smudging
or flaking with the mascara. It’s not the most intense mascara I’ve
tried, but it’s close to the top ones.

Review for Schick Intuition Sensitive Care Razor - 1 month ago

Wellness Guru Expert Level 2
First off, the razor is quite big, and comes with a replacement
cartridge. The handle is made or medium-hard rubbery substance, that’s
really comfortable in hand, but it can’t fit my razor holder in the
shower. It’s supposed to work just by wetting the razor, and shaving,
but besides making the razor wet, I had to get my legs really wet, or
the shaving cream around the blades would start skipping.  I am able to
do this out of shower, but do need to stay in my washroom with a towel
on the floor, because I have to keep my legs REALLY wet, and the water
drips down a bit. Also, obviously, I needed to rinse every now and then,
although less than with my regular way of shaving, so I’d say stay
close to a water source. Rinsing the razor is a bit weird, since it
feels that the hairs get stuck inside somehow, so I would get the
cartridge off and rinse it well every now and then. The razor with its
moisturizing ribbons makes my skin itchy, so I have to rinse off and
moisturize immediately after shaving, which doesn’t happen to me with
other razors, not do I have sensitive skin. Maybe someone with normal
skin could go without moisturizing, but I have really dry skin and
couldn’t skip this step.
It was super fast to shave my whole legs with this razor though, and
easy to rinse off the remaining shave cream. I did get a few cuts the
first few times I used it, that I don’t usually get when shaving, and I
think it’s because I was pressing a bit too hard. There is definitely a
learning curve here, it takes some getting used to this razor. I also
don’t think it’s good for smaller and curvier surfaces, like underarms
and toes – I didn’t get a really close shave there, and it was hard to
navigate it, since it’s so bulky. In general, it seems like I don’t get
the closest shave overall.
I like the swivel design, and it really helps follow the curves of my
legs, but like I already said, it’s not good for smaller surfaces. There
is a button on the side for releasing the cartridge, which makes it
easy, and an included plastic cap with holes to protect the blades (and
your fingers) while providing airflow, so that the razor dries off more
easily.
It feels a bit wasteful to throw away the
whole cartridge once the shaving cream is gone, since it gets used up
way faster than I’d change my razor usually. This razor would’ve been
great for travel, since it eliminates the need for any additional
shaving product, and the shaving cream in the cartridge is solid, so
there is no fear of spilling, but it’s just not great for underarms and
toes, so I would think twice about bringing it along.
The only way I’m using it is for a quick
shave when I need to run somewhere and forgot to shave previously,
because it does make shaving quicker. However, my hair comes out the
next day, since it’s not such a close shave. Overall, this was an
awesome idea, but poorly executed. I used up both cartridges, but won’t
be buying more.

Review for Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil - 1 month ago

Review for: Heavenly Rose
The oil comes in a bit bulky packaging, with the outer shell being made
of hard transparent plastic, the middle part that contains the oil is
soft, and finally, the cap is made of hard black plastic. The cap snaps
into place easily and doesn’t come off, which is important when you toss
a liquid product like this into your purse.
If you’re anything like me, wondering how
to get the oil out of it’s hard plastic casing, well, as already
mentioned, the center part is actually soft, so all you need to do is
gently squeeze the sides to get the oil out. I can already see that this
will lead to me not being able to use every last drop of the oil, which
is annoying.
The applicator is simple and made of hard
plastic, but it glides nicely over my lips and deposits the oil evenly.
The application is a bit awkward, because of the bulky packaging, and I
recommend you to keep the oil parallel to your lips. If you try to
apply it vertically, it will keep touching your lips.
All that beaing said, I really love the oil. It’s really quite pigmented
for a “sheer” oil, but the color is a bit more pink than rose. I do
need to pop out a mirror to apply it, because of the pigmentation, but
it applies easily and quickly. It’s very comfortable on my lips,
nourishes them, and most importantly – IT’S NOT STICKY. At all!

Review for FabFitFun Box - 1 month ago
This subscription box was interesting to me for a long time. This is a
lifestyle subscription, that brings makeup, skincare, apparel, home and
fitness products on a quarterly basis. I often see things in this box
that I wouldn’t even think to get on my own, so I thought why not try
it, and started my subscription with this Fall box.
I quite liked the fall box, and can either use of gift most of the products. The value with these boxes is insane. However, the winter box spoilers didn't seem appealing to me, so I had to cancel the subscription. Even with winter box being my second box only, there would already be similar products to what I received in my fall box.
I also really appreciate that shipping to Canada is only $8 USD
additionally, and this is a huge box. Some US subscription companies
really overcharge for shipping.
Review for GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment - 1 month ago

This is a very minty mud mask, that feels cooling and tingling on my
face, making it borderline uncomfortable. It’s quite thin, easy to
spread over my skin, I don’t need much and it dried really fast. I used
it only on my T-zone. It’s a bit funny, as it dries I can see tiny dots
where my pores are. It didn’t really clear my pores in one use, it more
opened them up, but overall my T-zone looked clearer and brighter.

This a dual-phase makeup removes that is obviously slightly oily, and
removes all of my makeup easily, including mascara. I only need a small
amount and don’t even need to rub much. I love a good eye makeup
remover, so this is a treat. It’s gentle and doesn’t sting my eyes.

I tried a deluxe sample of this product, and fell in love. The thin liquid inside smells exactly like quince jam to me, absorbs
instantly into my skin, and the scent pretty much goes away once its
absorbed. It’s very hydrating, and my skin is loving it. The few
days I’ve been using it were definitely not long enough to have any
bigger effect on my skin, but I love how it feels on my skin.

Review for: Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color Ruby 0.17 oz/ 5 mL
When I saw the color, I expected a rich, deep burgundy, and I was
surprise to see that this lipstick is quite sheer (then I looked it up).
This is a type of lipstick that gives a blotted lip look with one
swipe, and can be built up to give more color. It’s somewhere between a
tinted lip balm and a regular lipstick in terms of color and hydration,
and lasts about the same as other lipsticks on me (not long-wearing
ones).

Top photo shows one swipe only for a natural, blotted look, and lower is built up quite a lot to give a deeper color.

I got samples of this primer multiple times, and use it regularly, although I wouldn't make it my first choice if I needed to purchase a primer. That being said I do like it. It has that classic silicone feel that
glides smoothly over my skin, and makeup applies good over it. It’s not
greasy and gives my skin a smooth and somewhat blurred finish.
This is the cult-classic primer that almost everyone tried at least once.
