I'm an avid mask user; clay masks, egg masks, sheet masks, you name it, I've tried them all! I picked this up on a whim because I heard great reviews about it as a budget-friendly option to the more expensive clay masks sold in Sephora (hey Glamglow). When I first put this mask on, there is a noticeable smell, but as with all clay masks, you get used to it around the 3 minute mark. As the mask dries, my face feels tighter - but also as if the moisture is being sucked out of my skin. My assumptions were confirmed when I washed off this mask, as my skin was terribly tight and dry (although quite soft and clean) and I had to immediately apply moisturizer to remedy the situation. I have oily skin as well, so this was quite the surprise. This mask works to draw tiny impurities out of your skin, however if you're looking for a mask that heavily draws out EVERYTHING, this mask will not be your favourite. For me, it brought the large impurities out to just under the surface of my skin, causing them to be more visible and hence I had breakouts for the next few days. I would use this mask after using a more heavy duty clay mask that I love (The Sephora brand sells a fantastic clay mask), and in that order, this mask works.I wouldn't recommend this mask if you have dry or combination skin. Perhaps other oily-skinned girls like me found this mask to work, however, my skin did not like this one bit! I did not see any difference in brightening or overall cleaning in general and I will continue to look for more budget friendly options for clay masks. :(
This is a moisturizer that I constantly repurchase and keep on me. The scent of the cocoa in this product is delicious, but it is not overpowering by any means. I use this to moisturize my hands when I'm on the go for the most part, however, at home I will use this all over my arms and legs to give a nice moisturized glow to the skin. It's not greasy; it's more like a thick moisturizer. It's travel friendly and really does work superbly. My skin is baby soft after using this and I can always rely on this as a moisturizer after shaving, as it does not cause me irritation or make me break out! The tub container is fantastic, as you know you will be able to reach every last bit of product without wasting any (I'm looking at you, pump bottles). However, this moisturizer does take a while to get absorbed into the skin, so if you're in a hurry and don't like the feeling of a thin film for a short period of time, I wouldn't recommend this product. This is for those times of day when you just want to relax.
I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
This is a tubing mascara, which is a pretty rare find at the drugstore and at the price point Revlon is selling this at. With all tubing mascaras, you must be careful to start at the root of your lashes to ensure that the product is evenly distributed along your entire lashes or else the mascara will start to ball up and become clumpy. The applicator has a nice straight edge and is tapered to one side, allowing easy application and for me to reach every single lash equally. The ergonomic handle also assists with this, and allows enough grip that I won't mistakenly deposit mascara on my eyelid.
I naturally have pretty black and full lashes, but I do see this mascara intensifying my features and adding a little bit of volume (Blackest Black). If applied correctly, Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara will separate my lashes (I make sure to start at the roots and brush straight up) beautifully and lengthen them to a natural finish. This is definitely not a dramatic mascara, but it is great for those natural makeup days when I want to look a little fancy!
However, the number one reason I love this mascara is that it DOESN'T SMUDGE! And this isn't even marketed as a waterproof formula (water resistant, yes). This is a wonder because 95% of mascaras smudge below my lids and give me raccoon eyes by the end of 4 hours. This mascara lasts all day, and I never need to worry about black flecks on my cheeks later on in the day when I put this on in the morning.
Even better yet is the removal process. Mascaras that don't smudge on my usually have a painful and problematic removal, which often involves ripping out a few lashes or me giving up and leaving the mascara on (both of which are terrible options). However, this mascara comes of easily in warm water, as advertised! Micellar water and regular makeup remover wipes work easily as well. I don't know what they did with this formula, but this mascara is truly water resistant yet easily removed with water - not sure how, but it's crazy.
Overall, I would recommend this mascara if you are looking for an everyday mascara that is smudge proof, easy to remove, and will give you a natural finish while still looking put together. I might start using tubing mascaras more often now, and this mascara is a pleasant beginning to the journey!
The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is the #1 foundation I go for when I know I'll have a long day and I need my makeup to stay on. It is extremely full coverage, and can give you a "flat" looking face if you do not add dimension back in with bronzer, highlight, etc. However, it covers and conceals the worst of blemishes and makes sure they're covered for the entire day; around 16 hours was the maximum time I've worn this for without foundation breaking down.
However, there are a few cons to this foundation. First off, it smells terrible, like paint! You need to blend it quickly in order to not get a streaky finish (this dries down almost immediately). It's extremely important to exfoliate beforehand, as this will emphasize dry patches to no avail (this is common for most full coverage foundations). For me, it cakes up around the nose when I apply it and looks a bit powdery. A little setting spray will take this away! Overall, this is a great budge-proof, full coverage, and long wearing foundation that is my go to for long periods of time. Be sure to remove it well at the end of the day with an oil based makeup remover; this stuff is bulletproof!
I have mixed feelings about this primer. It comes out in solid clumps, is hard to squeeze out (you need to apply a lot of pressure), and takes a long time to rub into your skin and blend.
Also, after keeping this primer on after a hot and sweaty day (around 6 hours), it made me break out!! Yes, it's a pore filler, but it also clogged my pores terribly. I would recommend moisturizing the skin before hand or using this on top of another primer. The silicone feeling is a personal preference, and I don't mind it that much, but a little DOES NOT go a long way! I have to squeeze the bottle around 4-5 times every time I use this.
The pros to this is that the foundation goes on pretty smoothly over top, and it blurs my imperfections slightly to make my skin more even looking. It fills my pores pretty well, but not as well as the Porefessional.
However, there are a lot of cons! This primer accentuates dry patches and my foundation breaks down in smaller patches throughout the day compared to if I had not used the primer. It doesn't really keep my skin more matte either. I usually put matifying primer and then this one on top of it.
Overall, the Pore Filler has too many cons to be priced so high, around $16 CAD. Would not repurchase! It's so hard to find a good primer at the drugstore. :(
I have this eyeshadow in the color Iced Latte. I usually don't buy single eyeshadows (I opt for palettes) but this is an eyeshadow that everyone should run out to get.
The staying power is very strong, it begins to fade around the 8 hour mark which is incredible for a high pigment, shimmery, and drugstore shadow! I prefer applying this with my fingers to get the best color payoff, but a dense eyeshadow brush would work just as well. The packaging comes with an extra seal to make sure the eyeshadow does not create a mess, which is great when I'm travelling with this!
The color Iced Latte can be used on the lid, inner corner, and also as a STUNNING, extremely intense highlight. Honestly, using this eyeshadow as a highlighter beats even some of the high end brands! It doesn't contain huge chunks of glitter, but goes onto your cheeks as a beautiful reflective sheen. This is a very versatile product and well worth the money.
*I received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.* I'm not exaggerating when I say that this lip liner does not budge at all after it sets (around 10 seconds). You can rub it as hard as you can; it's almost like a tattoo! When it fades (around 6-7 hours for me, including through meals!), it fades all together, and not in separate patches. It's extremely comfortable; my lips feel supple even after 6-7 hours wear. The pencil glides on my lips without tugging on any spots, it's very creamy and barely needs any pressure to get intense color payoff! The color is extremely opaque, yet natural as well, which I love! I can use it to look more put together during the day without looking noticeably with makeup. With 30 shades in the range, you can find your perfect colour easily. The only drawback to this is the amount of product in the lip liner. For the price, I only use this for lining my lips and not to fill them in completely. 0.03 g for a lip liner is extremely little, especially compared to the 1.4 g regularly provided by other brands at the same price point. The packaging is also so beautiful! The intricate patterns on the liner definitely make the product look lux! The lip liner is retractable, making it easy to use and no need for a separate sharpener. It makes a nice click when you turn to get more product; it stays secure. I would call this lip liner my new found holy grail, but as the price is so high, I probably won't be able to afford it. Definitely an item I will splurge on once I feel like treating myself!
I have been shopping at Forever 21 (F21) since the beginning of highschool, so I'm a long time customer of the brand. The clothes and accessories sold at F21 are trendy and seasonal (you probably won't find the same item in store the next month!). However, it's not my favourite store for quality pieces.
F21 clothes have the tendency to be plastic and well, cheap. You get what you pay for! I found this to be reasonable 4 years ago, but now, the prices at F21 are rising and for the quality that you're getting, I cannot justify spending my money there anymore (unless there's a GREAT deal)!
If you're looking for accessories, beware. The paint of the jewellery begins to peel, fade, and turn colour after a few wears. The hats are trendy, but uncomfortable to wear (the knits are scratchy and the caps are hard plastic). If you're looking for makeup...stay away! The eyeshadows stained my eyelids and the lipstick came off in less than an hour. Not pleased! The nail polish isn't bad, but you could get better ones for the same price at the drugstore.
I probably sound terribly disappointed, and I truly am! 4 years ago, the quality was not that bad, and I still have pieces that have not fallen apart since then. However, pieces that I bough in DECEMBER have seams already torn and threads are spewing out everywhere!
Overall, although F21 is a "budget-friendly" store (honestly, it's getting kind of expensive), the price is too high to justify what you're getting. Sadly, I will only be shopping here if a major deal arises.
These have always been my favourite flavour of chip. It's a strong flavour, and you can tell that the sodium level is off the charts, as well as the MSG in the chip. So, if you're into mild tastes, stay away from this. I personally love this for it's bold flavour and ruffled texture. It feels good to eat a chip with more of a "grip", and the satisfying crunch in your mouth is unbeatable. There are a few downsides to this bag of chips. Starting with the bag! Often, I will find my bag 3/7 full of chips and 4/7 full of air (rough estimates). It disappoints me when I only get 3/7 of what I've paid for! However, this does have a positive side, as it allows your hand more room to get into the bag. Another plus is that this chip is less messy than other, more oily chips. My fingers aren't covered in grease when I lift them from the bag, which is a godsend when I'm travelling and don't have a sink nearby. I can't say much for its nutritional value though. ;)Overall, excellent product, and will repurchase over and over again.
This was one of the first lip balms I ever owned growing up! Brings back nostalgic memories every time I use it. :) However, I must say that unless you want your lips to look like a frosted pink cupcake, I would not recommend this lip balm. The colour is opaque, and I would compare it to the pigmentation of most drugstore lipsticks. I use this lip balm only on the centre of my lips when I want a bit of a gradient effect and a pop of shine on my lips. It does it's job at moisturizing, which is great for a lip balm at its price point, but it's not a lip balm I would use everyday! The shine is just too noticeable to be natural, and that's not something I want from something marketed as a lip balm. It's a compact tube that is easy to take around, but on one of my excursions, it melted! It literally melted in my purse and the entire inside of my purse was a light sparkly pink. Horrible! I had to wash my bag thoroughly and even then, the scent of the lip balm lingered. So beware in hot weather!Overall, would not repurchase, and would only recommend to those who do not mind an unnatural lip balm.
